The most beautiful spots in Egypt
The Red Sea
For a week we show you the most beautiful islands in Egypt and the most beautiful kite spots – from beautiful sandy bays to uninhabited islands with super flat water. All our safari spots are only accessible by boat. It is up to us to explore them. From Hurghada we set off towards an uninhabited archipelago 40 km north – the islands of Tawila, Geisum and Asharafi. All spots are suitable for beginners with crystal clear water and large spaces with shallow water. Not infrequently we are the only boat on the spot and have miles of flat-water all for us.
Tawila means „flat“ in Arabic and is a huge sandy island and the first island we reach – the perfect spot for the first session of the safari. On the southern coast stands a narrow finger of sand that forms a perfect bay with low, flat turquoise water. The wind here blows offshore from the northwest direction, which means smooth water and spectacular freestyle conditions. The area is huge and if someone goes away, the zodiac waits downwind to pick us up.
Geisum consists of two islands, one northern and one southern. The Geisum islands offer an incredible kite playground with numerous bays, peninsulas and lagoons protected by coral reefs with side or offshore winds. One of our favourite session in the Geisum is a north to south downwind between five and ten kilometres long. We sneak in and out into bays and caves.
Ashrafi is one of the northernmost islands of the archipelago and here something very special awaits you: a huge lagoon, with shallow and flat water, with cliffs and sandbanks. Outside the sandbank you can also find small to medium waves. Ashrafi is a highlight for everyone, from beginners to advanced kiters.
