Safari Itinerary
Irinerary
What is the kitesafari’s itinerary? Here you can read what awaits you on your kitesafari. Our goal is to make your trip and your stay as easy and simple as possible. We will pick you up at the airport and from the first day you can already start kiting…
It’s time, your kite adventure begins. On the day of your arrival you will be picked up at Hurghada airport by one of our drivers. One of our guys will be waiting for you at passport control and already has your visa with him, so you don’t have to queue at the visa counter. Just look for the sign with the „KITESAFRI.EU“ or „SIM SIM DIVE“ logo.
A driver will be waiting for you at the airport exit and we will drive together to our yacht – your accommodation for the next week. The boat is located in the marina of Hurghada or in the marina of the old Sheraton. For a good organization of the pick-up, it is necessary to tell us the flight number and arrival time, if the flight has not been booked through us. Boat check-in is from 13:00 h. Depending on how late you arrive you can kite in Hurghada on the first day. For this reason, we will go to one of our partner stations where we will spend the day. In the evening they will pick us up again and spend the first night on the boat.
Ready for day two? We leave early in the morning and then drive for about 2 hours to a group of uninhabited islands 40 km north – the islands of Tawila, Geisum and Asharafi, where we will spend the next few days. On all the spots we find shallow, crystal clear and flat water. Not rarely we are the only boat on the spot and we have miles of flat water all to ourselves. Depending on the wind we decide where to anchor and go ashore. We anchor at the bow of the islands and for kiting we move to the islands with our zodiacs. We have two zodiacs which are used for the transfer and also for rescue.
The beautiful days are already behind us and on the penultimate day we leave around 14:00 to return to Hurghada before 17:00, where we spend the last night on board and enjoy the last sunset once again.v
On the day of departure, you will be accompanied to the airport by our driver in time. If your departure is late in the evening, we can still use the day and kite in Hurghada. For the girls on board we can arrange an appointment at the hairdresser or beauty salon. We look forward to seeing you again, see you soon!
Frequently asked Questions
Here you will find interesting information about the entry into Egypt, wind, weather and recommended equipment. If you have any further questions, you can always contact us.
To enter Egypt you need a visa, which can be purchased directly at the airport for 25€. The visa will be stuck in your passport, which must be valid for at least 6 months. You can also enter with a normal identity card. If you enter with an identity card you will need to fill in the yellow immigration card available at the airport. In addition, you will need two passport photos to enter with your ID card. It is recommended to have your passport with you, because entry is usually easier. If you are not an EU citizen, you should check in advance with the embassy if there are special requirements for entry. We will gladly take care of this for you and help you to get a visa. At the airport or on the plane you should fill in the pink entry form, which the official will stamp at the entrance desk. When you enter the country one of our guys will be there to help you.
In Egypt the sun shines 365 days a year and temperatures are constantly warm. The average temperature in March/April and October/November is 23° during the day, at night the temperature can sometimes drop below 15°. For evenings you should therefore have a thin jacket with you. From May and the summer months the average temperature is 30-35° during the day and 27° at night. So you can leave your jacket, wetsuit, sweater at home without worries. The average water temperature is 22° in March/April and October/November. For kiting we recommend a shorty or a thin long-leg wetsuit, because it can get a bit chilly, especially when we are still in the water in the evening at sunset. In the summer months, we use boardshorts and lycra to protect us from the sun, which is very strong, so we recommend using sunscreen with a high sun protection factor. We also recommend long-sleeved lycra, sunglasses and hats.
The probability of wind in Egypt is over 80%. In the area where we kite even a little more, because the jet effect increases the base wind by about 5 knots. There are days with 30 knots but also days with light wind around 15 knots. Since nobody can determine the wind, unfortunately there can be no days without wind. For these days there are many alternatives: snorkelling, swimming with dolphins, diving or simply a relaxing day at the beach with barbecue.
